This was a good vampire read. The vampires were scary while trying to play down their scary-ness. The writing is good, the action is heart pounding, the ending left me scratching my head. I thought the author could have given us some better understanding. That kind of explains the 3-star rating. I did like this read. It is short enough to read in one sitting and the author accomplishes the story in that length so I wasn't frustrated about it being short. The romance is based on one kiss and escape from the bad guys. We like the only likable vampire, Trenton, and we are rooting for him. Ophelia is rather a loose cannon at times but her heart is in the right place.Sometimes you just want a quick read. This is one that fits the bill.

This storyline had some potential, but the authors really need to hire an editor. The scenes are choppy and the relationship between the main characters doesn't develop very well. It almost seems as if big chunks of the story are missing. The heroine isn't likeable and she is portrayed as a bit sleazy. Her first perception of the vampire is one of horror - but then she wants to kiss him? Really? Finally, vulgar language is used suddenly and inappropriately. It was just weird.
This could be a good story, but it needs editing and major rewriting.
Forbidden Halo is a novel that grabs your interest right from the start. It's a great mix of mystery, love and lust with a vampire twist. I felt as though I were right there with Ophelia through it all and am hoping the author decides to continue the story with a second book. Great read! I LOVED it!!

I got sick of the foul language and boredom. basically your reading "I am Legend" from a pornstars view. the end
A new and interesting vampire novel that is filled with beautiful language and paints a scene of lust and uncertainty. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and suggest it for anyone looking for a story that will draw you in allow you to escape into an alternate world full of witty banter, magnetism, and rapture. Very quick read. I loved it!!
Forbidden Halo is a great, quick read that gives you a look into the life of a journalist (Ophelia) as she researches and writes an article on the vampire community. The love story between Trenton and Ophelia was pretty believable, but the ending left me hanging, and wanting more of the story - this book would be a great opening for a series! I hope the author continues the story in some form.
I would recommend this book to any fan of vampire fiction or adult romance novels.
Kept my interest mostly. There was a part in the middle where it was getting a bit boring and I skimmed a few pages. But it really picked up when she was kidnapped by the Darklings (mindless vampire beings). My biggest issue in the book was in the beginning. She was heading off to the bosses office, thinking she was going to get fired. Instead, he offers her a new assignment and she asks him to keep her cat for the weekend. Say What? That was totally random. Who asks their boss, who they barely know, to keep their cat? I was thinking that maybe it was set up for the plot of the story later on. No. It kinda bugged me to keep this little incident in the back of my mind through the entire book. Is something going to happen to her boss because he is babysitting the cat? No. Is the cat to become an important part of this story? No. Like I said, totally random.
